iPhone 4G Leaked, Apple lose its Head of Security or what?
The Vietnamese site Taoviet has snagged an honest to goodness 4th generation iPhone. From the images posted on their (and the engadget) website, this looks to be a later model prototype than the one leaked a few weeks ago. The folks at Taoviet also fully disassemble this little chunk of technology for our personal consumption showing the new apple A4 processor and the larger lithium ion battery. The XXXX on the back clearly shows it is still a prototype and not an actual production model and the only visible difference between this iPhone and the first leaked iPhone are the two missing screws on the bezel at the base of the phone.

Apple’s lost 4G iPhone backstory and features… maybe.
Steve Wozniak "the Woz" Apple co-founder pokes fun at the Apple Developer who "lost" the prototype.
Gizmodo’s acquisition of the 4G iphone is an interesting story, in a nutshell and Apple Developer on his 27th birthday obviously had too many german beers at The Gourmet Haus Staudt. He promptly left the prototype iPhone (disguised as a 3G) on his stool as he left… so the story goes. The big question for me, did Apple really allow this to happen or do you think it might be a VERY clever marketing ploy? I know if I was in charge of marketing I would certainly orchestrate something along these lines if possible. Think of all the free advertising and hype that would build up in the two to three months prior to release. Then again Apple loves to “surprise” so it may have just been an honest “oops!”
Apple should be announcing the new iPhone, OS4 and most likely the verizon version of the iPhone this June at Apple’s WWDC (world wide developer conference). Can’t wait to see if all the rumors will be true.
A list of new possible features includes (some verified in OS4 upcoming release):
Unified Mailbox (all email accounts in one “folder”).
Application folders for organizing your apps by type or whatever.
New background (wallpaper) options.
A new, sleeker body design (4G).
OLED screen?
Multi-Tasking. You can use multiple functions at once).
iChat camera (on the front for video chat!).
32G (basic) and 64G of memory. That is a big chunk of memory!.
Removable Battery (wow! really?).
Hi Def Camera and Camcorder.
Hi Def audio.
Messaging light.
True GPS built in? I hope so.
The Gizmodo guys seem pretty confident and have a little different take on the “whats included”, check out the full post here.

Apple Gives us a Sneak Peek at the Future of the iPhone Operating System
I have also attached a link to the original keynote address so you can watch for yourself, Steve Jobs had a keynote on April 8th and went over the success of the iPad so far and then immediately delved into the the benefits of the upcoming iPhone OS4 upgrade coming to a phone near you this summer, iPads get the same upgrade in the fall.
Included in this phenomenal upgrade are the ability to multitask up to seven apps at once, the addition of folders, super mail enhancements (especially for those with more than one account), iBooks (of course), tap to focus on video as well as adding a 5x zoom and tap to focus on videos now.
On a side note, as of the 8th, 450,000 iPads sold, ibooks 600,000 sold, over 3.5 Million apps for the iPad downloaded. Sounds like it was a success. Watch the Apple Keynote

They got the scoop over on Mashable . With this new app Digg is giving iPhone users the ability to Digg and bury stories in a native iPhone app. It goes on to report that it will support browsing upcoming, recent, and popular stories across topics too. Mashable has quite a few screen shots up as well, just click the link above.

Come over and dig our new video (link) up in Appointment Cards, it is a nice how to on library use and designing appointment cards.
An official Apple document was leaked showing that iPhone will soon be available without a contract at Apple stores. Sources say the iPhone will still be locked, but will require no AT&T contract. It will however still require an AT&T simm card. Another stipulation is that users can only buy one iPhone a day.
At that point it’s up to you to unlock it. Apple’s prices will be $499 – iPhone 3G 8GB, $599 – iPhone 3GS 16GB, and $699 – 32GB top of the line model.
With over 140,000 apps in the Apple Store weeding through the bulk to find the rare gems can be a daunting task. Today’s post is about the search for an App that works well as a remote for your computer. As the convergence of TV and the internet occurs this type of tiny app will make our lives much easier! For the purpose of this review we will only hit what I feel are the top two computer remotes.

Remote Jr., basically this little puppy is a cross between a VNC app and a remote control. Most of the other apps I looked at only provided control via a wifi network, not so with the Remote Jr. It is capabl of connecting over GPRS/Edge or 3G. This means you can access your computer even when you are not at home!
Man in Haiti survives quake by using iphone apps and a digital SLR camera… “But by using the focusing light on his camera and taking pictures, he was able to figure out where he was and where to go. And thanks to the iPhone first-aid app he’d downloaded, he knew how to fashion a bandage and tourniquet for his leg and to stop the bleeding from his head wound. The app also warned him not to fall asleep if he felt he was going into shock, so he set his cell phone’s alarm clock to go off every 20 minutes…” By Mike Celizic
