Have you been thinking about upgrading to the most current operating system on your Computer? Are you worried about compatibility with your existing software? Adobe keeps (and updates) a page listing compatibility with all of its software packages here and it is a good reference to check out before you upgrade.
Make sure you look at the FAQ for each product as well. Even if there is a green check mark, Adobe may have identified some “noncritical issues”, for CS4 see this page.
Happy Upgrading!

Seems Pepsi has better things to do with 20 million dollars that to invest in a Superbowl commercial this year. What they have decided is to create an entirely new marketing campaign using… wait for it… wait for it… Social Media. Interesting concept, but its not new. It does seem that the mad rush for social media marketing may hit in a big way in 2010. They are planning on using Cause Related Marketing, an interesting strategy and something to research further.
Now…. I live in the South y’all, where everything IS a Coke. Pepsi, no matter what marketing tools are used, wont visit my house… but I do like the marketing idea.
BMW-Oracle Racing's entry "USA" is a giant trimaran with a wing sail that is more than twice as big as the wing of a Boeing 747 Passenger Jet and is the largest wing sail ever fitted to a sailing boat.
For those who Don’t know the America’s Cup was named after the boat, not the country.
In 1851, a boat named America won the 100 Guinea Cup, the prize to the winner of a race around the Isle of Wight.
The winners, members of the New York Yacht Club, donated the trophy to the Club, to be held as a ‘challenge’ trophy. More on that at the official website linked below.
After a two year court battle on the interpretation of the rules these two multi-million dollar boats will finally hit the seas on Monday. Reportedly each team has invested over 200 million including design, builders, marketing, and of course lawyers… ha! Traditional sailing enthusiast are not big on the rules with these high tech behemoths. The current rules have taken the athleticism out of the sport with electric winches and ballasts. Hopefully the days of watching most of the crew hanging off mono-hull sailboats as ballast and the tactics of course plotting are not gone. We will have to wait until the next cup race to see.
Also, for the first time in the history of the America’s Cup, races will be broadcast live free of charge on www.americascup.com

The Google Chrome OS tablet ideas (Story at cnet [link] ) from their Chromium developer site are a worth a look, Apple went with more of an iTouch/Kindle concept where the Chrome OS is a browser based operating system. For more information check out the TechCrunch Blog.

Yes, I am a Macintosh advocate… some might say a mac evangelist, so when “the Woz” speaks, I listen! Steve Wozniak’s inventions (including software and hardware) contributed significantly to the computer revolution of the 1970s. So when he says he thinks it’s a software problem I’d investigate deeper! Woz was speaking at Discovery Forum and slid off topic to the Prius (he owns several.) “This is software. It’s not a bad accelerator pedal. It’s very scary, but luckily for me, I can hit the brakes,” Toyota… hell0! I think time will show “the Woz” was right!
If you want to hear the entire story, follow this link to the cnet website. If you are not familiar with Steve Wozniak google him or read one of his books, a very interesting individual, he is on my top 5 “I’d like to hang out with some day” list.

The eye dropper tool in InDesign is not your Father’s (or Mother’s) digital eyedropper. Back in the days of Photoshop 2.5 and one undo (yes… 1) the eyedropper was a pretty simple tool, it sampled color… period. These days the eyedropper does SO much more. Double click on the tool to see the attributes it will collect. To see the power of this sample some formatted text in your document and the cursor will change as if it filled up, now use that to highlight some unformatted text… ta-daa! Really handy when replacing copy in a file with no style sheets. Video tutorial to follow. This tool is one of the most handy items in the digital toolbox when working on larger documents or even when copying styles from another file. Enjoy!
